FAQs

Will you provide transportation to and from the Strip?
Yes. We pickup from the Tour Bus Lobby/Uber area of the Bellagio Hotel. You may also drive out to meet us where we start the tour.  If you prefer to drive, let us know ahead of time you are choosing to do that so we can send you the directions to where we start the tour.

Do I need a reservation?
Yes!  You must reserve in advanced, we do not accept customers on site and/or cash payments. You can book your tour online through our secure website.  We do not see or store any of your credit card information: all payments are processed by Shopify, a reputable e-commerce provider. You can pay with any major credit card or PayPal. Please book online to reserve your ATV tour. We can verify via phone that a specific slot is available, but cannot hold it on your word alone, we require a valid booking to reserve a spot.

How far in advance should I book?
The earlier you book, the more likely you will get the time slot you want.  During the summer months, Saturdays fill up fast. In general, most customers book two weeks ahead of time, but we can take your reservation at any time. Same day reservations must be made with us on the phone, and cannot be guaranteed. We will not hold any time slot unless you have a confirmed booking, but you can contact us about our availability.

What is your refund policy?

We do not allow any same day cancellations or refunds. Cancellations 7 days or more in advance will be granted a full refund minus a non-refundable credit card processing fee of 4%. Cancellations between 7 days and 24 hours are subject to a 30% cancellation fee. There are no cancellations or changes allowed within 24 hours of your tour. If any booked person shows up late for their pickup/meeting time in the desert, the full paid tour fee will be forfeited. By paying for your tour, you agree that refunds for any other reasons are at the sole discretion of Detour Vegas.

How should I dress?

  • For ATV riding, wear long pants and closed toe shoes to protect against rocks and thorny desert plants. If you have large earrings, remove them before coming or if you have a bulky up-do hairstyle, remove it to a low ponytail.

Below you will find the average temperatures for each month, note that these are averages and some weeks are hotter or colder than others so it's good to check the forecast before you leave for your trip. What should I bring?

In winter we recommend you bring a jacket, as it is colder than you might expect.  We will supply water for all the activities and safety gear such as helmets, gloves, and goggles.

Do I need to tip the guide or driver?
Tips for good service are always appreciated. Our guides/driver spend time and effort before, during and after the tour. So, if you're happy with the service, a tip is recommended. For all your tipping questions, refer to vegas.com tipping guide.

Do I need a driver's license to ride an ATV?
No. You just need a valid form of ID. ATVs are not like cars, we do not have traffic laws to obey, you just need to follow the guide's instructions on operation. Due to the inherent risks associated with our tours, you must be 18 years or older to participate in this activity alone, and 16 or over with a legal parent or guardian on the tour.

Do you have a weight limit?
Yes, the weight limit for ATV riding which is 350 lbs.

Can I ride as a passenger on an ATV with someone else? I don't want to drive my own.
No. We do not allow passengers on our ATVs. Our ATVs are not rated to carry passengers, and passengers on our machines have a risk of being thrown from the ATV and suffering injuries. It is safer to ride an ATV yourself.

Can anyone under 18 years old participate?
Due to the inherent risks associated with our tours, you must be 18 years or older to participate in this activity alone. If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you may participate, but a legal parent or guardian must be on the tour with you.

What if I break an ATV? Or myself?
Customers can damage ATVs for various reasons: inexperience, inattentiveness, overconfidence, abusive driving, a large rock in the road, etc... Whatever the reason, you are responsible for the cost of parts and labor to repair the ATV. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THIS POLICY, DO NOT BOOK WITH US. We do not believe customers who leave our equipment as we gave it should pay for other's errors. Any ATV rollover will result in a minimum of $75, even if damages are not visible.

If you hurt yourself, our guides will ensure you get immediate medical attention and offer to take you to a medical facility. We are not responsible if you hurt yourself, as ATV riding is an inherently dangerous activity, and you must assume all dangers such as serious injury or death if you choose to ride.

    Do you do ATV rentals?
No. If you want to rent, there are several companies that do that, but not us. Keep in mind that rentals are usually more expensive than guided tours as they cause more wear and tear on the equipment.

Why don't I see kayaking landsailing or mountain bike riding on your website? I see reviews and photos for them.
We have removed these activities from our offering to focus on ATV riding. We recommend you check TripAdvisor for other great outfitters.

Why should I book with you?
